The shape browser

Every shape of the game's twelve shape containers, 1,049 in all, is here as the disk holds it, drawn from the files by this book's build in the colours the game shows its container in, colour 0 left as the ground, as chapter 12's contact sheets draw them.

The shape browser is drawn by a small script of this site from data its build made, and needs JavaScript.

Choose a container, or find a shape by the name the program asks for, and pick it to read its record's header as chapter 12 takes it apart: the size and the hotspot, the stored planes and their plane masks, the clear and set bytes, whether the blit gives it a mask or draws it opaque, and for the player's aircraft and its weapons the mirror. The colours are the numbers the planes store, not what the clear and set bytes make of them on the screen. The shapes are the game's art: they belong to the authors and publisher of Wings of Fury, Broderbund (1990), and are kept here for preservation without any right to them being granted.
